my journey
My name is Julia Ward and I am a hair stylist in Eau Claire at Ivy and Sage Hair Co. I have been doing hair for 6 years and loving it more and more each day. As I was growing up, I was always doing everyone's hair. It started with Barbie dolls, and when I hit middle school I asked for a mannequin for Christmas. In 7th grade I started an Instagram page called, "Braids by Julia."
Fast forward to 11th grade, I made the last minute decision to enroll in beauty school for the class immediately following my high school graduation. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew it felt right.
I have always been interested in the beauty community. Something about making people feel beautiful, inside and out. As I grew on my journey in this industry, I discovered that it is okay to have specialties, and you do not need to do anything you don't love. I discovered my love for blonding. I discovered how beautiful the wedding industry is. I discovered that the work I do is no longer work, it is my passion.
Every day I wake up thankful to spend my days with the best clients, and create art that is tailored to each individually beautiful person.

Moved from my first salon to Ivy & Sage, discovered my love for bridal hair

There is a reason why I love weddings so much, and that is because I love, love. The reason I love, love is because of my husband, Riley. We recently got married on June 14th, 2024 and it was a magical day. Every time I style hair for a wedding, I can feel the love. It is pure, exciting, emotional, and beautiful. There is something so special about two people becoming one, and I felt that on my own wedding day.
